Bus Winston
Ford Transit converted into a tiny home
Ideal for full-time minimalistic vanlife, weekend trips through the country or holidays in Europe and beyond.
This Ford Transit is a true stealth bus. There are no large windows. This ensures that it is not abvious someone is sleeping in it at night. The lack of windows also means fewer break in possibilities and better temperature control (windows are difficult to insulate at both warm and cold temperatures).
Despite the fact that there are no windows, it is not a dark space. The light wall colors and the light coming through the ceiling fan give the interior a light and clean feeling.
During the day it is possible to sit on the sofa. With the pull out drawer table it is a prefect workspace to work on your laptop. The high counter provides the option for a stading desk. I personally enjoy working on my laptop while standing. Lex prefers a sitting position.
There is a small kitchen unit in the van with all the necessities. You can quickly wash some dishes or do a small laundry wash by hand in the compact sink. The water is operated by means of a foot pump. In a van, where you do not have an endless amount of water at your disposal, conscious water use is very important. With a foot pump you are even more frugal with your water consumption. There is a two burner gas hob on the left side of the sink. Perfect for preparing more elaborate meals.
The short counter block on the driver’s side has a compost toilet, a litter box and two storage drawers. The Nature’s Head compost toilet is easy to use, environmentally friendly, and has no smell. The litter box is for the cat that travels along. The space of the litter box is tailor-made for our big male cat, so he has plenty of room to turn and do his business. Yes, there are custom-made solutions for every housemate!
